We had to postpone the April 18, 2020 Annual Fiesta Style Show. We then had to cancel the August 22,2020 Annual Fiesta Style Show. All this is due to the Corona Virus. We are all safe. Next year the annual Fiesta will be October 9, 2021.

Above Photos are from our CDA Sunday 10 am Mass October 18, 2020 in front of the Church.

Without our masks.

The photos are from our annual All Souls Mass on November 2, 2020. Thank you to our ladies who participated.

St. Helena of the Cross #2679 at St. Helena’s Church December 5, 2020 at noon celebrating the Fatima Rosary Saturday. In addition to officers are our ladies and members of the church seated above. This celebration is in addition to our Fatima Rosary we celebrated on Saturday October 17, 2020. This was in conjunction with the Texas and National effort to bring the love and devotion to Mary in the United States. Several of our ladies will participate in “Wreaths across America” at Ft. Sam Saturday December 19, 2020 at noon. We invite all the ladies to join in this effort to commemorate those who have served our country.

Above are photos of our Rosary Rally for the unborn. It occurred on January 23, 2021 in front of St. Helena’s Church. CDA and the Knights of Columbus Sponsored the event. Another Rally will be scheduled on March 20, 2021. We look forward to seeing you there.

Above is our most recent spoke to the Circle of Love wheel. It was like watching a well-oiled machine at work. It took about 1 1/2 hours to do the job of cutting and decorating 100 valentines for the Heartland residents. Helen Juniper, the Quality of Life committee head, led the effort, demonstrating the desired outcome and then patiently monitoring the progress. Our new CDA member Micheldy Pierre was in charge of quality control, making sure that all the parts were done before putting the completed valentines in a box. Helen Juniper and our Regent Yolanda DeLeon delivered the valentines to Heartland Health Care and Senior Living facility on Wednesday, February 10, 2021.

Here are some photos from the Traditional Marriage Rosary Rally March 20, 2021.  Thank you very much to those CDA Sisters who were able to participate in this Rosary Rally to celebrate the Feast of St. Joseph, patron saint of families.
A special note of appreciation to the Knights of Columbus for setting up tents and chairs for this rally
.

Helen Juniper and Toni Harkiewicz delivered decorated plastic eggs stuffed with candy for the Heartland Health and Care Facility residents. Lori at Heartland is always happy to deliver our gifts to the residents.
On Saturday, March 13, 2021, five of us had some fun decorating the eggs.

News from National

In CDA National News there are five National Projects for which National is asking that all Courts send $20.00 per project per year.  They are Habitat for Humanity, Holy Cross Family Ministries, Laboure, SOAR, and Smile Train.

The site also mentioned what the CDA ( as defined by the IRS as a designated tax-exempt 501(c)3 organization.) can do regarding educating voters about the candidates and their positions.  A recent check of  the National CDA site shows new videos and important information.  Please check out the National CDA site at  www.catholicdaughters.org.

Season of Giving

Memorial Mass cards are still available $2.50 each. These cards provide prayers once a month for a year for your intentions.  It also provides the money for scholarships.

At the meeting October 6, the court voted to donate $1500 from the raffle proceeds to the St. Helena Building Fund.

We will be donating $300 to the San Antonio Food Bank this February, 2021.

Quality of Life Helen Juniper is putting together valentine gifts for the residents at the Heartland.

We will be brainstorming for a Mother’s Day event, a summer sale of items for a charity and in October, we hope to have our annual Fiesta Fashion Show. Keep praying for our causes.

In Memory of Terri Jesse

Above are photos of our beloved sister Terri Jesse. The wake was attended by the ladies of St Helena of the Cross #2679. A tribute was awarded to the family. It was an honor to have paid tribute to our beloved sister who graced with her presence so many CDA activities and accomplishments over the years. Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord. Let perpetual light shine upon her. Amen.
