Here are the highlights of the April 15, Spring Fling Boots and Bling… It’s a Cowgirl Thing!!!
We would like to thank our Sponsors Lone Star Capital Bank, Randolph-Brooks Federal Credit Union, James Avery Jewelers Forging Hope, Kutz and Kurlz, Bill Millers and Puente and Sons Funeral Chapels.
Thank you to our vendors for providing door prizes and great shopping for our attendees. They were URPI Latin American Art. The jewelry vendors represented, Jenny Yim (Grace & Heart), Samantha Harkiewicz made jewelry, and Sylvia Gonzales ( Paparazzi). The other vendors were URPI Latin American Art, Jennifer Pastrano Home and Decor, Carol Craig Stitchery, Bev Resendez Topaz Canyon Designs and Charlotte Kennedy Harper Gifts provided gifts and accessories for handbags and totes, fashions and stationary products. The event was so much fun!
Did I mention the silent auction? There was jewelry, home decor and Christmas items galore.
We are grateful to HEB for their donation of $200 in gift cards. Lone Star Capital Bank and Randolph Brooks FCU have each donated $500. Swing Junction; Puente & Sons Funeral Home; Alterations, Tailor & Shoe Repair have each donated $100. We have also heard from Reger Family Dental; My Shop Tint; Jennifer Scroggins; and Adorn Jewelry @ Rolling Oaks Mall. We have heard from Oak Leaf Event Center,;Kutz and Kurls; Las Carretas Restaurant all who are offered Gift Certificates. We had auction contributions from our court sisters and friends. We did meet our goal of $7,000 and will donate $3,000 to the St Helena Building Fund after expenses.
The pictures below show our models. The models were from various ministries. The models were active in promoting the parish activities. Some of the vendors are also shown.

Our court provided chips and sandwiches at the 4pm Mass Farewell reception for Father Lenin Naffate on September 25, 2021.

We provided cookies for the Welcome reception on October 31, 2021 after the noon Mass for Father Marcin Czyz, our new Pastor and Court Chaplain.
Above we celebrated our November 2, 2021, All Souls Mass with the Bereavement Ministry. We have celebrated this event with our parishioners who have lost a loved one in the last eighteen months. Afterwards, we have a small reception of cookies and beverages.
Our Charities
The CDA National projects are the Habitat for Humanity, International; Holy Cross Family Ministries, Father Peyton; The Laboure Society; SOAR (Supporting Our Aging Religious). The National Charities: Apostleship of the Sea; Catholic Relief Services International; Covenant House; Disaster Relief Fund International; Misericordia Heart of Mercy Home; Mother Teresa “Missions of Charity” International; National Center on Sexual Exploitation/Morality in the Media; Pontifical North American College of Rome; and local charities are a few that we have helped in the past. Along with these missions, each court or district is encouraged to seek out its own “mission of mercy”. Our court is aware of needs in our immediate area such as the Food Bank, the Guadalupe Home and A Woman’s Haven in San Antonio. Catholic Charities Archdiocese of San Antonio, Inc.

The Fall Pilgrimage:
National Chaplain, Fr. Shenan J. Boquet, and CDA invite you to save the dates of October 23 thru November 3, 2023. This Pilgrimage will visit sacred sites in Spain and Portugal where Our Lady has appeared, such as the miraculous city of Fatima, where the three children, Jacinta, Lucia, and Francisco encountered Our Lady, and the sun danced for hundreds of thousands as a sign of Mary’s appearance. We will also travel to the thriving city of Santiago de Compostela, where the body of St. James lies entombed. See website for more information!

St. Helena of the Cross #2679 has taken on the Gifting Tree ministry. Several times a month we will be selling religious items at the Dolan Center. The profits go to our St. Helena Church. Check the bulletin for dates. See you there!

Court St. Helena of the Cross #2679 in San Antonio attends the Catholic Women’s Conference presented by the Pilgrim Center of Hope. With the theme of “Women of Hope,” the speakers presented enlightening talks at this two-day conference. We continue to practice our circle of love spoke of quality of life (social awareness) by taking Christmas gifts and entertaining the folks at the Aventine Senior Living Center We continue this mission at the Heartland located in our parish.

Our family includes the St. Helena Parish. As part of the parish, we staffed the silent auction at the Wine and Tasting event in the Dolan Center. The goal is to break ground for a new Religious Ed building for our youth. The parish is close to reaching the $3 million goal.
